To see the marvelous Marlborough Sounds under the sunrise, take a ferry, ‘Interislander’ that departs at 3:30 am. Like this you have an excellent experience. I will never forget when I first laid eyes on the sounds. I fell in love immediately. Though I was awfully tired after the long journey from Berlin to Wellington, this view kept me awake with excitement. I booked a nice place in the ‘Plus Lounge’. Here you can always find enough space to stretch your feet or even lay down for a little nap. They provide little sofas, which you can call your own on this 3:30 hour long trip. Plus Wifi and as many drinks and food from the buffett as you like. This ferry is huge. I haven’t seen something like that before. It surprised me how many trucks, cars and motorhomes fit in there. It hit me hard when I saw the fantastic, fascinating, unbelievably beautiful Marlborough Sounds passing by. Am I still excited ? Hell yes !! The following video will show you why…
